Most of the Filipinos are fond of eating, especially when we are out of town. And because we are in Sagada, me, Crisel and Catherine who are also an food junkie tried the different restaurant in Sagada and what they can offer to us. Here are some of the popular restaurant we’ve tried.

1. MASFREE INN AND RESTAURANT

masferre-country-inn

The place was just as cozy as what the name is. They have a variety of foods to choose from. Filipino and American breakfast, the main course (lunch and dinner) and meriendas. Because it was already late lunch, me and Catherine ordered Tuna Sandwich while Crisel ordered the main course combo meals. The servings are so huge that it can be good for 2 persons..well it depends if  you are hungry and still have a large space in your stomach. Hahahaha They have different menus from Filipino to American food plus a bit of Italian cuisine (because they served also pastas). Rated 3 out of 5. You have to wait for about 10-15 minutes or it depends on what you have ordered. Price ranges from 200php- 300php, not included the drinks you will order.

2. Pinikpikan Haus

What they can offer?! The Sagada’s especial dishes named ” Pinikpikan”. You have to beat the live chicken by using a stick not that too hard and not too soft. They use native chicken which the color of their meat is somewhat black. After hitting it, you have to burn the feathers just like the roasted chicken, then eventually you have to cook it like how you cook “nilaga”. This is somewhat salty in taste.Mostly this is served during special occasions. A must try! Price ranges from 150-200 good for 1-2 persons! Rated as 3 out of 5 !

3. Sagada Brew

What this restaurant can offer? From breakfast, merienda, lunch and dinner, they have different menus to choose from!Though our tour guide advice us to have some breakfast here! The normal Filipino breakfast, like tocino, tapa, longganisa and corned beef together with egg (sunny side up or scrambled) are served as early as 7 am! I want to try vigan longganisa plus sunny side up egg together with Sagada’s brewed coffee! They also have different kinds of pastries if you want to have a dessert after you eat like blueberry cheese cake or a piece of lemon pie! Rate as 3 out of 5 because you have to wait 20-30 minutes before they served the food. Price ranges from 180- 250 php per different menu, good for 1 person only.

This restaurant caters mostly the famous lemon pie! You have to order it ahead of time because they accept orders only until 6 pm. A piece of lemon pie costs 30php/slice. Take some of it together with brewed coffee and have some chitchat with your friends while sitting in indian postion or just sit outside. A whole pie costs for about 250php. A must try!

For me, this is the best place to dine in! Why is that so? Oh because the place is very cozy and artistic in a unique way. What you can see inside? At the corner is just somewhat like a chimney and all over the walls are different black and white pictures randomly captured in different angle. Ordered Pasta ala bechamel with smoked ham and Robust Tuna salad open sandwich for dinner which are highly recommended by their staff. It is good for 2-3 persons depending on your appetite! Don’t forget to order the famous and highly recommended yoghurt, the banana yoghurt topped with granola and strawberry. 4 out of 5! Prices ranges from 200-250 depending on what you have ordered. Yoghurt price is 100php/serving! A must try to visit!
